✨ What a fantastic day yesterday! ✨

Amber’s Legacy was at Sunderland University speaking with students at the Community on Campus event (@ Gateway, City Campus). It was eye-opening to learn that many of the mature students we spoke to (aged 27-29) had never had a smear test—some didn’t even know how to book one! 🤯
Even more surprising, a number of students hadn’t registered with a GP.

We handed out lots of information, leaflets, and advice to raise awareness.
We also spoke with the University rep, who is now considering ways to incorporate GP registration and smear test guidance into their starters’ presentation at the beginning of the term.

A huge step in the right direction! 🙌

Later, we joined Wendy and Sunderland Healthwatch at Sunderland Royal Hospital, continuing our mission to spread awareness about the importance of cervical screening.
