📢 Cervical Cancer Awareness Week: 21st–28th January 💙
Did you know that cervical screening saves at least 2,000 lives each year in the UK? It’s a simple but life-saving test available to anyone with a cervix aged 25 to 64. This screening identifies HPV infections and cell changes in the cervix that could lead to cancer if left untreated.
Thanks to advancements like HPV primary testing and vaccination, we’re on track to see cervical cancer rates decrease even further in the coming years – saving even more lives.
However, we know that factors like eligibility and barriers to access disproportionately impact some groups. That’s why a newly updated Cervical Screening Good Practice Guide is available to help health professionals provide accurate, accessible information, empowering everyone to make informed choices about screening.
