What a Day to Remember – Toni’s Memory Walk for Amber’s Legacy
What can we say about yesterday? Despite the non-stop rain, well over 100 amazing people turned out to walk 10 miles in memory of Toni, showing incredible community spirit and support.
Starting from The Beehive in Houghton-le-Spring, the route took us through Fencehouses, Burnmoor, Penshaw, Philadelphia, and Newbottle — all to raise vital awareness for cervical cancer and much-needed funds for Amber’s Legacy.
There are simply too many people to name individually for their dedication and effort, but we must give a very special thank you to Beth Pettey, who pulled the entire event together with passion and determination.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who walked, fundraised, donated, or simply cheered us on. Every single penny raised goes directly to helping people currently going through their cancer journey and supporting their families. Amber’s Legacy operates with no overheads — everyone involved works on a voluntary basis, which means your donations go exactly where they are needed most.
The community spirit we witnessed was humbling and truly admirable. We walk not only to remember the powerful, inspiring women we’ve lost, but also to fight for a future where no one has to face cervical cancer alone.
At Amber’s Legacy, we believe education is key. By spreading awareness and sharing stories, we aim to save lives and support those in need.
Thank you all — from the bottom of our hearts.
